Flu Vaccination
What is a flu? Flu and cold are 2 different illnesses caused by different viruses. Unlike a cold, flu is a serious infection that can cause complications like pneumonia and bronchitis. Individuals with chronic medical conditions, the very young and the elderly are particularly at risk.
Some of the common symptoms of flu not seen in cold are high fever, dry cough, severe muscle pain, sore throat and runny nose.
Do you know?
Flu vaccines are very safe. Children as young as 6 months old can receive the flu vaccines to protect against serious flu. Women who are pregnant can also receive the flu vaccine. Flu vaccines typically last a year, so we would encourage an annual vaccination.
